Taylor, we were both young when I first saw you..

From love story, our song, you belong with me and fearless - Taylor Swift always had a special part in my heart. But over the years things have changed. I spent years listening to different music and in the recent years it feels like she has gained a lot more popularity again (or is it that I'm noticing her more these days). Music has always been a huge part of my life, but I never stopped to think too much about the lyrics from my favorite artists. Not to mention, how talented & attractive this woman was- she had a charming, honest quality about her, and she worked super hard for her success. It wasn't until I stumbled upon this podcast by Allie Beth Stuckey with the episode titled "Taylor, you need to calm down" that I started to think about the artists I support and the messages they stand for. What happened? What changed with Taylor Swift that her music turned darker and seemed to promote anti-christian values over the years? I was too deep down the rabbit h

Why do people get to feel happy, if it’s all going to go away one day and be replaced with a horrible empty sadness? Why do people meet other people who totally know them, will stick with them and Love them- ONLY to lose them at some point? Why do we even bother with love? Why do we even bother with making friends? I know it makes the journey worthwhile, and I know it’s foolish to think that we can make it on our own, all alone. Because we can’t do that, we need other people . No matter how independent a person we are. [We know this to be true because : as kids, I'm sure, we all either had to go without any real, faithful friends for a while- or at least had this period of separation from them-that made us feel bad. Just plain bad.] But, no matter how many people we do end up having in our lives…it doesn’t matter if we don’t even Love ourselves. and even if we don't learn this ourselves, God has a Way of putting people in our lives to teach us these things, and hopeful

For a long while now, I've envied the pretty girl, I've envied the girl who has all the boys around her. I've envied the one who carried herself well. I've envied the girl who looked pretty,having gorgeous hair, skin, clothes, eyes, lips and made the funny jokes. That girl everybody likes. But when I envied these pretty girls with the hot bods and the beautiful friends, i thought i was missing out..that my life would be so much better if I was them. This year, they made me "Miss AZBT".(my class) That girl everybody likes. I felt loved. But i couldn't help feeling-underneath all that love, which was overwhelming- that I had gotten EVERYTHING that I had been chasing for so many years of my life. And that everything turned out to be ABSOLUTELY NOTHING . I'm not saying that in an ungrateful way.
