Fresh Eyes

Have you ever seen something that you’ve seen before a thousand times but suddenly notice something about it and suddenly everything feels new and different? Whether it’s a place, a person, or a situation this has happened several times for me. And when it happens in a positive light it feels like I’m different. Suddenly, the sun is brighter or the trees greener, but they were the same way all this time, the one who is different is me. (It’s like that song called “Fresh Eyes” by Andy Grammar like seeing someone you know and love as a stranger just because they felt like dressing up a little that day). I can’t explain it exactly but I’m sure everyone has experienced this at some point of time or the other.

Like walking down, the same street you did growing up but now it hits you that it is as special as any other exotic place on the planet that you craved to visit before. It’s the same sun over your sky as in that place you wanted to go to. The way the trees filter the rays are unique and special to the place and so are the people who are walking on the same street as you right now. It’s a unique moment in time that you’re blessed to be a part of and seeing it that way makes me feel different, although the place hasn’t changed much on the surface

 It’s a beautiful day.

Maybe that’s why its so important to not give up in an instant of pain, of unforgiveness, of suffering, of shock. Maybe that’s why its not easy to hold on, but oh so worth it to wait through the months, the years of emotions that seem out of control. Maybe God is in control and working all things for good for those who love Him and choose to trust Him and follow Him. Maybe that’s why because everything can change in an instant even when nothing has changed on the surface. I mean everything can change inside of you and suddenly you see why its worth it and where you went wrong. And all those tough moments have finally brought you through to this time right now, when everything is still and beautiful and being orchestrated for your good.

The earth has an electromagnetic field around it that protects it from the harmful rays of the sun, unlike some other planets like Mars. This makes it a special place in our solar system. It gives it the ability to hold the right amount of the air we need to breathe and survive in our ecosystem. We have just the right amount of gravity to hold us down and we have liquid water that we need to sustain life as we know it.

What a crazy thought that everything is made perfect for us. Our Maker delights in us, protects us, shields us, takes care of us, and makes sure that everything is in its place.

(I watched a documentary called “A Beautiful Planet” yesterday). So, I guess you can say that I have fresh eyes.
