26 things I learnt before turning 26

  1.         Unexpected things happen all the time.
With the corona virus situation and all the other things going on in the world right now – this is something I learnt quite recently in a very real way.
    2.       I am loved so so much by the Creator of the Universe and He values me enough to let His son die for my sins.
Although  it doesn’t always feel like it – even though the circumstances sometimes feel like the opposite of the statement – this statement is true to me now like gravity exists (Though I act like I’ve forgotten it sometimes)
    3.       Everyone needs good friends.
Yes! And Emphasis on good. The people around you make or break you. It’s better to choose people who would rather pay attention to you, and build you up rather than ignore you or tear you down!
    4.       Change can be traumatic at first, but sometimes it could also be a good thing
Shifting my base location for the 3rd time in my life the last year taught me that major life changes can be stressful at first but it could also take you somewhere you need to me.
    5.       While painting : There are no mistakes, only happy little accidents (Bob Ross)
We can literally paint over our mistakes while painting, so why are so hard on ourselves?
    6.       Traveling is fun! Seeing new places is fun and wonderful.
Uncomfortable as it is sometimes; traveling opens up whole new worlds and sparks up life so much.
    7.       You’ve got to stand up for what you believe in and what you think is right.
It’s not easy to do this, especially if you’ve kind of spent life doing whatever everyone expects you to do. But its more worthwhile to live the way you believe is right than what everyone else says. Because what’s the point of being you if you’re just like everyone else?
    8.       Exercise is good for your body and your mind & mood.
    9.       Fasting and Praying is a great tool to build a stronger relationship with God
    10.   Eating nutritious food matters. It impacts everything you do.
    11.   Drinking a lot of water is good too!
    12.   Sometimes people move on with their own lives and priorities and that’s okay!
    13.   Doing something that scares you is sometimes the right thing to do
    14.   Talk to people, genuinely care about others and ask them if they’re okay (Lesson from Mr.Rogers)
    15.   What you give your attention to, gets you!
    16.   Forgive freely – it’s good for you
    17.   Sometimes you just gotta cry to get it out of your system and then you got to let it go.
    18.   Speak the truth with love
    19.   Use your gifts and talents for others, to build them up!
    20.   Jesus is cool
    21.   Speaking out your opinion is a good idea (did I say this already? Oh, right I did. Then it must be doubly important :D)
    22.   The world is very noisy. Social media is noisy. But you can take steps to control the level of noise you want to be exposed to or if you’re contributing to the noise.
    23.    I’m (most probably) no longer gonna eat meat just because of what it does to my body! (or too much of sugar or preservatives) A whole another story for a whole another time.
    24.   Being a bridesmaid to your best friends’ weddings are a mixture of extreme joy, a pinch of sadness (they’re leaving you alone to spend all their time with this new person now?) , a lot of pride and a little bit of confusion.
    25.   That a virus can stop the entire world for a minute (I mean 6 months at least)
    26.   Life is worth the living.
